Parents with preschool and SEN children face different pressures, such as parent-child relationships, financial pressure, child development, and marital relationships. These pressures can easily lead to negative emotions and family conflicts, ultimately affecting the emotional well-being and development of children.

In February 2022, the Heep Hong Society collaborated with Professor Daniel Wong Fu-Keung from Hong Kong Baptist University to develop an evidence-based counseling tool with cognitive behavioral therapy, aiming to assist parents of preschool children in managing their emotions and reducing the stress and negative emotions associated with childcare.

The results show that CBT has significant effectiveness in helping these parents cope with stress and maintaining a positive attitude when facing various challenges. When parents' negative emotions decrease, the emotional and behavioral difficulties of children also decrease accordingly.
