Statistics 101: Linear Regression, The Very Basics
Abstract︰
This is the first video in a multi-part Statistics 101 series on Simple Linear Regression. The video will cover the fundamentals of this type of regression, starting from the very basics. To be clear, when I say "regression" here I mean simple linear regression specifically, not multiple regression or non-linear models. Regression allows us to mathematically model the relationship between two variables - an independent variable and a dependent variable. An important point is that when we evaluate how "good" a regression model is, we are actually comparing it to a specific other model. So in this video, we will discuss this idea, and also start introducing foundational terminology and concepts that you will need for working with regression.
