The Innovation Journey
The InnoFamily Award comprises of TWO distinct phases:
The initial Training Phase provides a series of free workshops, agency visits, and mentorship opportunities, designed to foster a deep understanding of how ICT integrates within parenting support programs, child welfare services, families with special needs, elderly, etc. Upon completion of the training, participants will be awarded the “Certificate in Technology Innovation in Social Services”.

| JAN - MAR 2025 | 2 Agency Visits Obtain a real-world perspective on the challenges and successes within the fields. |
| JAN - MAR 2025 | 3 Mentorship Sessions Receive personalized guidance to refine your proposals. |
Following this, the Competition Phase invites participants who have completed the training to showcase their innovative solutions as a team. The most compelling proposals will be shortlisted, with the top 10 teams advancing to the final round for a chance to win the award.

The Innovators Wanted
- Training workshop is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students across Hong Kong.
- All participants who successfully complete the training phrase qualify to submit a social innovation proposal for the competition.
- Participants may register individually or as members of a team. Individual registrants are encouraged to form or join a team to enter the competition.
- To foster interdisciplinary collaboration, each team must consist of 4-6 students, including at least one from social work and one from a different discipline.
- Collaborations across disciplines and institutions are welcome.
Background
Sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and supported by local agencies and institutions under the Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project, the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Baptist University launches the first InnoFamily Award.
This initiative invites university students to collaborate in teams to develop innovative solutions addressing family challenges in Hong Kong, with a special focus on incorporating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into family services.
